HLG Associates TT Series

ISLAND Games cyclist Jack Rebours has taken the main honours in the VeloSport Jersey Time Trial Series, sponsored by HLG Associates.

The CCC rider secured first place in the five-event series with a win in the final time trial at La Pulente last Tuesday (16 June), completing the 15km course in under 20 minutes in what were ideal conditions.

Rebours, who won three of the events he contested, claimed the series trophy ahead of VSJ’s Dan Halksworth, who won the first two time trials back in May, and CCC’s Howard Greenside, both of whom both finished on 17 points.

Top lady was Angela Davey, who was rewarded for her consistency over the full race series, while Emily Bridson took the junior honours in a women’s section which saw different winners (Angela and Emily among them) in four of the five short course time trials that were staged.

Super veteran Ian De Ste Croix romped to success in his category, winning all five races, while Mike Keighrey was leading veteran following a close battle with Shaun Crowther. The junior men’s winner was Ryan Rebours.

The HLG Associates TT Series was introduced to give all local riders the opportunity to compete in evening time trials across over the Island’s different 15km and 10 mile courses.

The top three in each section picked up their prizes from HLG’s managing director Simon Matthews at the series presentation at the Chart Room at Castle Quay on Saturday 20 June.
