Jerry Willis

Jerry Willis

Group Managing Director, Jersey

Jerry is the Group Managing Director of HLG. His main focus since joining the company 3 years ago has been business development and to help drive growth in the services offered, the team and the client base. He maintains a hands-on approach to projects providing project direction, client liaison and support for the internal project team.

Jerry is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the utility and infrastructure sector. He has led teams on major infrastructure projects including the development of the subsea power cable network between the Islands and France. Working with in small teams gave Jerry the opportunity to manage projects from inception, through design and procurement and delivery. Most recently, he has been working closely with fellow directors on growing HLG in the Channel Islands, and in particular establishing and developing new services including Health and Safety Advisory and Environmental and Sustainability consultancy, both of which have a critical role to play in the construction sector. Jerry is passionate about leadership and helping those around him to realise their full potential. He has a strong teamwork focus and excellent communication skills that bring diverse teams together helping to consistently deliver for clients.

Jerry has previously served on the committee of the Channel Islands Group of Professional Engineers and is currently helping the local branch of the Association of Project Management build their presence in the Islands. Outside of work, Jerry’s sporting passion is rugby and he still manages an occasional run out with Jersey Rugby Club seniors when not supporting the clubs professional side, the Reds. He is also a keen cook often supplementing his dishes with home grown chilli’s, (the hotter the better!) and sharing the results with friends and family at home.
